Chef, writer, and James Beard-nominee Nicole Rucker is best known for the rustic, fruit-forward desserts she creates at her LA bakery, Fat and Flour. Rucker’s Strawberry Rhubarb Tangerine was inspired by a pie filling made from the same ingredients that Nicole swore smelled just like pink Starburst.

We wanted to let the tart, green apple freshness of seasonal rhubarb shine, so we started by roasting our stalks with a splash of tangerine juice, allowing them to soften and the flavors to concentrate before pureeing. We then blended fresh Monterey farm strawberries, combining the fragrant mixture with the luscious rhubarb and more cold tangerine juice for freshness. The result is a tangy, aromatic Delight balanced with a touch of strawberry sweetness.

“Typically a big fan of these products (so much so that I’ve been sharing with friends), but I find myself normally wanting a stronger dose. I was excited to try the 7mg as I’ve been combining a 5mg and a 2.5mg. However, unfortunately, just didn’t feel anything. Flavor is solid but I guess your mileage may vary on results. Fairly bummed as they aren’t cheap but I guess I can just continue to combine. If you are fine with the lower levels of thc, then these are probably great for you.”
